Sparks Fire Department Recovers Body from Truckee River

NEVADA – Sparks Police Department Officer Nick Chambers has reported that the Sparks Fire Department (SFD) retrieved a body from the Truckee River on Tuesday afternoon. The incident took place near Coney Island Drive in Sparks, prompting emergency crews to respond swiftly.
Officer Chambers stated that a concerned individual on the bike trail alerted authorities to the presence of a body in the water shortly before 3:00 p.m. on May 23. The SFD promptly entered the river and successfully recovered the deceased individual. However, the cause of death remains unknown at this time.
Officer Chambers clarified that the recovered body does not match any individuals currently under investigation by the police. As of now, there is limited information available regarding the identity of the deceased person or the circumstances surrounding their entry into the river.
The authorities are actively investigating the incident and will provide updates as more details emerge.
