The Reno Toy Run Raises $100k, Collects Thousands of Toys for Local Children
NEVADA – The Reno Toy Run collected hundreds of toys and $100,000 in donations to help local children in northern Nevada have a Merry Christmas.
Volunteers went through the presents on Friday, December 9, 2022, dividing them up by age category in preparation for the major event the next day, when 25 organizations will receive the toys for the families they assist.
Because of this Toy Run, children from 20 families will have gifts to open on Christmas morning.
All of this stems from the December 4, 2022 event in which motorcycle riders paid $25 and brought an unwrapped toy to participate in the Toy Run, as well as other donations made at local area businesses and online donations to the Reno Toy Run website.
“We do it for the children.”
Everything in our organization stays in the community. Northern Nevada has it all. As a result, it’s a huge lift for all of us to support our community. “We love doing it for our own community,” said Amanda Moran, a Reno Toy Run Board Member.
“It simply makes your heart happy.” “It’s fantastic to watch the emotion of the people when you give them the money,” said Reno Roy Run Treasurer Dan Lewis.
Although it is too late to give toys, the Reno Toy Run is still collecting monetary contributions.
