Teen Arrested for Open Murder in Fatal April Sidewalk Attack

LAS VEGAS, NV — A 17-year-old male is in custody facing an open murder charge following the death of a woman in Northeast Las Vegas last month. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) announced the arrest Tuesday, marking a major development in a case that had remained unsolved for over two weeks.

The Incident and Investigation

The investigation began on the morning of April 21, 2026, when patrol officers were called to a report of an unresponsive person lying on a sidewalk.

  • Location: The victim was discovered near the intersection of East Bonanza Road and North Pecos Road.

  • The Victim: Medical personnel identified the woman as 61-year-old Marceline Biasini. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

  • Cause of Death: The Clark County Coroner’s Office later determined that Biasini died from blunt head trauma, ruling the death a homicide.

The Arrest

Homicide detectives spent the last several weeks canvassing the area for surveillance footage and witnesses. On Tuesday, May 5, their efforts led to the identification and apprehension of the teenage suspect.

  • Booking: Due to the suspect’s age, his identity has not been publicly released. He was booked into the Clark County Juvenile Training Center on one count of Open Murder.

  • Motive: Police have not yet disclosed a motive for the attack or whether the suspect and victim were known to each other.
