Turning Point Action Backs Marty O’Donnell as Nevada Battleground Race Heats Up

By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, May 15, 2026 6:00 am

Trump-endorsed congressional candidate Marty O’Donnell just landed another major conservative endorsement in Nevada’s increasingly competitive Third Congressional District race.

Over the weekend, O’Donnell announced he was endorsed by Turning Point Action, the conservative grassroots group led by Charlie Kirk that has become one of the most influential voter turnout operations on the right.

The endorsement adds more momentum to Republicans’ growing effort to unseat Susie Lee in a district that continues moving toward the center politically.

For Republicans, the appeal of O’Donnell is obvious.

He is not a career politician. He is a businessman, Halo video game composer, and longtime Nevada resident who has increasingly positioned himself as an outsider alternative to what conservatives describe as a disconnected political class in Washington.

That message is landing in a state where economic frustration remains high.

Nevada voters continue dealing with housing pressure, elevated grocery prices, energy costs, and economic uncertainty tied to the tourism-heavy economy. Republicans believe that the environment gives them a major opening against Democrats closely tied to the national party brand.

Turning Point Action’s involvement matters because the organization has built a powerful ground game focused heavily on younger voters, working-class conservatives, and low-propensity Republican turnout.

Nevada is exactly the kind of battleground where that operation could matter.

The state has become one of the most fiercely contested political environments in the country after Donald Trump flipped Nevada for the first time in two decades. Republicans now see the state not as a reach, but as a genuine opportunity to expand their coalition and compete aggressively down ballot.

That shift is reshaping races across the map.

O’Donnell’s campaign has increasingly leaned into themes dominating Nevada politics right now: affordability, public safety, border security, opposition to California-style policies, and support for working-class voters frustrated with the direction of the country.

The endorsement also sparked quick reactions from Nevada Republicans online.

NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez celebrated the announcement on social media, posting that Turning Point Action backing Marty O’Donnell means he “is ready to finish the fight for Nevada families who are tired of being ignored by crooked Susie Lee and her failed Democrat policies.”

Another sign that Nevada is becoming ground zero for the conservative movement again. The endorsement reinforces a broader trend inside the GOP.

Outside conservative organizations are investing earlier and more aggressively in battleground races they believe are winnable. Rather than waiting until late in the cycle, groups like Turning Point Action are trying to shape momentum now.

For Nevada Republicans, the strategy is straightforward. National energy plus local frustration equals opportunity. And with endorsements stacking up, Republicans clearly believe Nevada’s Third District is becoming one of the most important battlegrounds in the country heading into 2026.
