Susie Lee Faces Scrutiny Over Ties to Nevada Progressive Network Accused of Tolerating Antisemitism

A Texas Democrat is under fire after pledging to imprison “American Zionists” in an ICE detention facility, a shocking controversy that is now reigniting scrutiny over how mainstream Democrats continue aligning themselves with activist networks increasingly consumed by anti-Israel extremism and antisemitic rhetoric.

And in Nevada, Republicans say Congresswoman Susie Lee has her own questions to answer.

For years, Lee has operated inside the same Southern Nevada Democrat coalition ecosystem as Assemblywoman Cecelia González, a progressive activist-turned-lawmaker deeply connected to organizations and figures tied to increasingly toxic anti-Israel activism in Nevada.

As previously reported by The Nevada Globe, González appeared publicly alongside Shaun Navarro, the co-chair of the Las Vegas chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, despite the organization repeatedly promoting the phrase “From the River to the Sea,” language the Anti-Defamation League has described as antisemitic because it makes Jewish and pro-Israel communities feel unsafe and ostracized.

Navarro himself drew outrage after publicly calling then-Sheriff Joe Lombardo a “Nazi,” “garbage human being,” and a “piece of shit” during a political event disruption.

Yet none of that stopped González from appearing alongside him during a 2023 organizing event.

And none of it stopped Susie Lee from continuing to politically align herself with González.

That connection is not casual.

González endorsed Lee’s reelection campaign as part of a coalition of Southern Nevada Democrat leaders. Both have shared endorsement structures through Nevada labor organizations, overlapping activist coalitions, progressive political groups, and Clark County Democrat infrastructure.

They operate inside the same political machine.

Before entering office, González built her political career through activist organizing networks tied to the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada, or PLAN, a left-wing coalition heavily involved in protest organizing, progressive activism, and social justice campaigns. Her background also includes activism tied to Amnesty International initiatives and organizing connected to Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign.

Republicans argue the problem is no longer simply fringe activists saying outrageous things.

It is mainstream Democrats continuing to empower, normalize, and politically benefit from the same activist ecosystem where antisemitic rhetoric increasingly flourishes unchecked.

That broader national trend exploded into public view after the October 7 terrorist attacks against Israel, when progressive activist groups across the country saw waves of anti-Israel demonstrations, radical slogans, and rhetoric many Jewish Americans viewed as openly hostile and threatening.

Nevada has not been immune.

And critics say Susie Lee’s continued alignment with figures like González shows how reluctant Nevada Democrats are to confront extremism inside their own coalition.

For Republicans, the issue is becoming politically potent because it cuts deeper than normal partisan fighting.

It raises questions about judgment, political alliances, and whether Democrats are willing to draw any meaningful lines at all when it comes to activist groups pushing increasingly radical rhetoric.

Because while Democrats publicly insist they oppose antisemitism, Republicans argue their coalition politics often tell a very different story.

And voters are starting to notice who keeps standing beside whom.
