Nevada’s Moose Population Continues to Grow

NEVADA – The northeast corner of Nevada is slowly being taken over by moose. And they do it without help from people.
The Nevada Department of Wildlife says that this is the first time a big game species has done this without help from them.
Moose have been seen in Nevada on and off since the 1950s, but it wasn’t until about a decade ago that they were seen more often. The Nevada Department of Wildlife thought that between 30 and 50 moose lived in the state in 2018.
Biologist Kari Huebner from the NDOW says that number is now well over 100.
She says that the best thing about the growing number of moose is that they are doing it all on their own.
