A Las Vegas Man Pleads Guilty to Child Sex Trafficking
LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas man pleads guilty for the second time in internet sex trafficking sting.
James Allen Wynhoff, 40, pleaded guilty to attempted child sex trafficking and child pornography on Thursday. His plea agreement says his Kik account contained child porn.
Wynhoff began conversing online with a Las Vegas police detective posing as a 15-year-old girl, according to a criminal complaint. The detective worked for a federal task team that targets online sex traffickers.
Wynhoff was jailed for 48 months. According to BOP records, he was freed on Jan. 18.
According to a 2019 news release from the Utah attorney general’s office, Wynhoff was ordered to attend a sex offender treatment program while in prison.
Wynhoff was on supervised release in Nevada for his Utah convictions.
He faces life in jail and a $250,000 fine.
Wynhoff was arrested and remains in prison.
