Washoe County Children Can Now Get an Updated COVID Booster

COVID-19 bivalent vaccination boosters for children aged 5 and above are now available.
The FDA and the CDC approved the updated booster for children aged 5 to 11 last week.
The new booster is designed to combat the original COVID-19 strain as well as the BA.4 and BA.5 variations, which the Washoe County Health District believes are responsible for the majority of COVID cases expected to circulate this autumn and winter.
The Pfizer booster is for children aged 5 and above, while the Moderna booster is for children aged 6 and up.
The Washoe County Health District will offer a COVID-19 immunization clinic on October 20 beginning at 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Moderna booster will be available at the Reno Sparks Convention Center.
You may make an appointment by clicking here. There will be very few walk-ins admitted.
