Nevada Supreme Court Says That Robert Telles Could Have Stole Client Money

Former Clark County public administrator Robert Telles is suspected by the Nevada Supreme Court of misappropriating or mishandling client cash.
The admission was revealed in an order issued Wednesday by the Supreme Court, which suspended Telles from practicing law awaiting a formal disciplinary inquiry, as he faces a murder charge in the death of reporter Jeff German.
“The petition and supporting documentation demonstrate that Telles has been charged with murder and appears to have transferred significant funds from his trust account in 2022, after he left private practice and assumed the job of public administrator,” the order states.
According to the decision, Telles would have all money from his legal profession transferred into a trust account, and he would be unable to remove monies from any accounts linked to his legal business without the consent of the State Bar.
The order was signed by all six current Supreme Court justices. Following the retirement of Abbi Silver, the seventh seat remained unfilled.
Telles has been charged with the murder of veteran reporter Jeff German, who was discovered stabbed outside his house in September.
Telles’ DNA was discovered on German’s body after an examination, according to authorities.
Telles was removed as the county’s public administrator, which is an elected office, by a judge, and he is still being imprisoned without bond. A preliminary hearing is set to take place later this month.
