NEVADA – The community of Reno gathered to pay tribute to the crew members who lost their lives in the Care Flight plane crash that occurred on February 24.
The public memorial held at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center was a somber and emotional affair, attended by hundreds of first responders, friends, family, and community members.
Care Flight Nurse Ed Pricola, Care Flight Paramedic Ryan Watson, and Guardian Flight Pilot Scott Walton were honored during the ceremony.
The final dispatch call was played during the service, which left everyone in attendance feeling emotional. The REMSA Health Care Flight Family carried white daisies as a tribute to the loss of care flight members. Major General Ondra L. Berry, Adjutant General for the State of Nevada, spoke about the dedication and sacrifices made by the first responders. All three members of the medical transport plane crew received their wings during the ceremony.
Nevada state flags will remain at half-staff until the last memorial service is held honoring the flight crew. The REMSA Health-Care Flight Community Condolences webpage has been set up for those who would like to offer a message of condolence, love, and support.
The Care Flight Memorial Fund has been established for those lost, and donations can be made online at remsahealth.com/donations.
The ceremony was a fitting tribute to the crew members who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their community.
