Two Separate Accidents in Sparks Leave a 12-Year-old Dirt Bike Rider and a Bicyclist Injured

NEVADA – A 12-year-old dirt bike rider collided with a parked vehicle on a public street in Sparks on Friday evening, as reported by the Sparks Police Department. The rider was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
In another incident, a bicyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car in Sparks on Saturday evening. The accident occurred around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Disc Drive and Harrier Way. The bicyclist was crossing in a marked crosswalk on Disc Drive when a second vehicle attempted to pass a stopped vehicle and struck the bicyclist.
The injured bicyclist was rushed to the hospital, where they are currently in serious but stable condition. Police have confirmed that the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. It is not yet clear whether speed or impairment were factors in the collision.
As a result of the accident, eastbound Disc Drive was closed at Galleria but is expected to reopen shortly after 8 p.m. The Sparks Police Department urges anyone with information about the incident to come forward and contact the authorities immediately.
