MGM Resorts Returns to Normal Operations After Cybersecurity Attack

By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, September 20, 2023 9:17 am

LAS VEGAS – In a recent social media update, MGM Resorts has announced that its resort services, dining, entertainment, pools, and spas have returned to “operating normally” following a recent cybersecurity attack. The company’s website and mobile app are also back up and running, allowing guests to book dining reservations, explore nightlife options, and more. However, at Excalibur, guests are encouraged to seek assistance from casino cashiers and slot guest representatives if needed.

The cybersecurity attack, attributed to a ransomware group, had disrupted MGM Resorts’ operations and led to concerns among some employees who reported discrepancies in their paychecks. The group responsible has threatened further action if their demands are not met. MGM Resorts has not disclosed specific details about the attack or any negotiations with the hackers.
