In a unanimous decision, the Clark County Commission has approved the establishment of “Filipino Town,” a cultural district along Maryland Parkway between Desert Inn and Flamingo Road. This area, home to numerous Filipino-owned businesses, including the popular Seafood City supermarket, will now officially celebrate the rich heritage and contributions of the Filipino community in Southern Nevada.

With approximately 250,000 Filipinos residing in the region, this designation acknowledges their significant role in the state’s development. Community leader Rozita V. Lee, who championed the initiative, expressed joy over the recognition, stating, “Filipinos make a complete and wonderful contribution to this state.” The district aims to preserve and showcase Filipino culture, commerce, and traditions, reflecting the community’s integration and influence in Nevada.
