Medicaid Abusers Caught: Nevada AG Holds Fraudsters Accountable

By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, June 21, 2025 12:49 pm

Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford’s office has secured convictions against 11 individuals in a Medicaid fraud scheme stemming from a multi-year investigation launched in July 2017. These fraudsters, posing as mental health providers, brazenly billed Medicaid for full shifts—sometimes claiming 24 hours of work in a single day—without ever delivering any services. Thanks to the diligent efforts of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and their partners, each offender has been held accountable, and approximately $5.5 million will be repaid to Medicaid. Ford emphasized that persisting in these prosecutions ensures vital taxpayer-funded resources reach those who genuinely need them. This crackdown underscores the need for personal accountability, fiscal responsibility, and safeguarding public welfare. How can we further support efforts to protect taxpayer dollars from abuse?
