Deputy DA Arrested for Public Indecency at Reno Casino—Transparency Demanded

The unfolding scandal of Washoe County Deputy District Attorney Kenneth Ching’s arrest at a Reno casino isn’t just a sordid headline—it’s a startling example of entitlement masquerading as authority. Ching was taken into custody at the Peppermill after confronting a woman in public with his zipper undone, allegedly performing lewd acts in front of patrons and staff. Videos and witness accounts confirm the disturbing behavior: a woman pinned against a door, Ching exposed and thrusting in full view of passersby.
What’s more disturbing than his arrest is how the Washoe DA’s office responded. They swiftly placed him on administrative leave and dumped the case on Carson City’s District Attorney—no apology, no transparency, just a silent transfer of responsibility. A public servant should own his missteps. But not Ching. His refusal to comment, paired with the office’s stonewalling, raises serious questions about integrity at the top.
This isn’t minor misconduct—it’s a federal prosecutor apparently forgoing personal responsibility, and expecting no repercussions. We deserve leaders accountable to our values, not lawyers more concerned with optics than justice.
