Illegals First, Nevada Last: Lee and Horsford Sit as Trump Puts Americans First

During last night’s State of the Union, President Donald Trump issued a simple challenge.
“Stand up if you agree: The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.”
Not a single Democrat stood. That included Nevada Democrats Susie Lee and Steven Horsford.
The moment was not complicated. It was not nuanced. It was not legislative fine print buried in a 2,000-page bill. It was a yes-or-no question about who the government is for.
They stayed seated. The why matters.
Lee and Horsford have voted to let illegal immigrants influence American elections. They have backed taxpayer funded benefits for those here unlawfully. They have aligned themselves with efforts to shut down the government to extract concessions that benefit illegal immigrants.
This is not oversight. It is a priority. It is a priority increasingly disconnected from Nevada voters who are watching their communities strain under record border crossings, rising costs, and federal policies that seem to reward lawbreaking over citizenship.
Nevada has shifted before. It can shift again.
“This is Susie Lee, Steven Horsford and the Democrat playbook in plain sight: illegals first, Americans dead last,” said NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez.
The contrast is stark.
President Trump framed border security as the first duty of government. Lee and Horsford could not bring themselves to stand for that baseline principle. The visual will not disappear. It will live in mailboxes, on screens, in ads, and in debates.
NRCC’s spokesman Mike Marinella put vulnerable Democrats on notice after the refusal.
“Every single vulnerable House Democrat should get comfortable re-watching the moment they revealed that they’re nothing more than America-hating scums.”
Harsh words. But the political reality is harsher.
In a state where working families are squeezed and trust in Washington is thin, voters notice who stands up and who stays seated.
Nevada is competitive. The margins are tight. And moments like this crystallize what campaigns spend millions trying to explain.
The choice is becoming clearer. Protect Americans first. Or explain why you would not even stand.
