Metro Police Increase Patrols for St. Patrick’s Day and Spring Break Crowds

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has launched an enhanced safety initiative this week as large crowds arrive in Southern Nevada for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and spring break travel.

Officials confirmed that additional officers are being deployed throughout the valley, with a particular focus on tourist corridors including the Las Vegas Strip and the Fremont Street Experience.

Police say the operation will include DUI saturation patrols and checkpoints designed to identify impaired drivers and reduce alcohol-related crashes during the busy holiday period. The department is also increasing its presence in high-traffic pedestrian areas to maintain order and respond quickly to incidents.

Authorities are encouraging both locals and visitors to use ride-sharing services, taxis, or public transportation instead of driving after drinking.
