LAS VEGAS, NV — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) has officially identified the man arrested following a violent shooting and subsequent SWAT barricade that paralyzed the South Main Street area on Saturday morning.

The Suspect and Charges

Andrew Mullen, 39, was taken into custody on Saturday and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. Mullen is currently facing 13 felony counts, which include:

  • Battery with Use of a Deadly Weapon

  • 11 counts of Discharging a Firearm in a Prohibited Area

  • Resisting a Public Officer with a Firearm

The incident began around 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, in the 1800 block of South Main Street near Atomic Golf. Police say a woman was shot during an initial confrontation and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Mullen then fled to a nearby hotel property, sparking a six-hour standoff with SWAT and crisis negotiators before surrendering.

Court Status

Mullen is scheduled for a status check in Las Vegas Justice Court later this afternoon, Tuesday, April 21. Court records indicate his bail has been set at $150,000. Detectives are still working to determine the motive behind the initial shooting, which they have described as an “isolated incident.”
