LAS VEGAS, NV — Emergency responders in East Las Vegas handled two separate structure fires on Monday, ranging from a critical injury at a residential complex to a morning commute disruption near the university district.

Midnight: Critical Injuries on Twin View Circle

The most severe incident occurred just after midnight on Monday, April 20. At 12:04 a.m., Clark County Fire Department (CCFD) crews were dispatched to the 4300 block of Twin View Circle, near Vegas Valley Drive and Lamb Boulevard.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy flames extending into the building’s attic. They located one resident at the base of a staircase suffering from severe thermal injuries and smoke inhalation. The victim was rushed to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition. Despite the intensity of the blaze, crews successfully contained the fire to a single unit by 12:23 a.m.

Morning: Commute Delay on East Tropicana Avenue

Just hours later, at 7:27 a.m., a second fire was reported in the 2400 block of East Tropicana Avenue, west of Eastern Avenue.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) assisted with immediate road closures to provide fire engines access to the scene. While the fire caused a visible column of smoke and briefly stalled the morning rush, it was extinguished quickly.

  • Outcome: No injuries were reported in the Tropicana incident.

  • Traffic: Roads were fully cleared and reopened by 9:00 a.m.

Investigation Status

Fire investigators have not yet released the cause for either blaze. While the two fires occurred within roughly seven miles of each other on the same day, authorities have indicated they are entirely unrelated. Residents are reminded to check smoke detector batteries as the valley transitions into the warmer spring months.
