Lombardo Appoints Vaughn Hartung As Chair Of Nevada Transportation Authority
Lombardo will appoint his successor to the Washoe County Commission

Governor Joe Lombardo announced his appointment of Vaughn Hartung to the Nevada Transportation Authority (NTA) and designated him as the NTA’s new chair. Hartung announced his resignation from the Washoe County Commission yesterday afternoon.
A tweet by Washoe County Tuesday said the resignation was effective today, March 15.

“Chair Hartung is grateful for the opportunity to serve and he’s confident that Governor Joe Lombardo will appoint a successor who has the same dedication and commitment to the role,” the statement said.
“I’m pleased to announce my appointment of Vaughn Hartung to the Nevada Transportation Authority,” said Governor Joe Lombardo. “Throughout his time as Commissioner, Vaughn helped bring critical innovation, development, and growth to Washoe County. I’m grateful for Vaughn’s willingness to continue his service to others by serving as the Chair of the Nevada Transportation Authority.”
Since 2012, Hartung has represented District 4 on the Washoe County Commission. District 4 includes Sparks, Spanish Springs, and Hidden Valley. Throughout his tenure on the Commission, Hartung served as Chair and held numerous board appointments, including on the Regional Transportation Commission and on the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority (RSCVA). Hartung also led the Washoe County Strategic Goal Champion for the Economic Impacts Initiative, which focused on being responsive and proactive to pending economic impacts and taking leadership in facilitating smart growth.
