Nevada Dems Buck 83% of Voters, Vote Against Citizenship Proof and Voter ID in Federal Elections

Nevada voters deserve to know who is on their side and who is playing games with the ballot box.
This week,  Democrats Dina Titus, Susie Lee, and Steven Horsford voted against the SAVE America Act, legislation that does something most Americans assume is already the law. It requires proof of United States citizenship to register to vote in federal elections, and a valid government-issued photo ID to cast a ballot.
That is it. No gimmicks. No partisan carveouts. Just the bare minimum to protect the sanctity of the vote.
And yet Titus, Lee, and Horsford said no.
At a time when confidence in elections remains fragile, and voters across the political spectrum want transparency and accountability, Nevada’s Democratic delegation chose to side with the activist class rather than the public. The numbers are not ambiguous. Eighty-three percent of American adults support requiring a government-issued photo ID to vote. Seventy-one percent of Democrats agree. This is not a fringe position. This is not a culture war sideshow. This is an 80 20 issue if there ever was one.
Still, the Nevada trio marched in lockstep against it.
The SAVE America Act simply codifies what common sense has long dictated. Citizenship should matter in federal elections. Identification should be required before casting a ballot. Americans show ID to board a plane, cash a check, or pick up a prescription. But when it comes to choosing the leader of the free world, Titus, Lee, and Horsford believe less scrutiny is the answer.
Nevadans are left to wonder why.
Why oppose a measure backed by an overwhelming majority of voters, including their own party’s base. Why reject a straightforward safeguard that strengthens confidence in outcomes. Why fight so hard against something so basic.
The answer appears painfully obvious. Party bosses in Washington demand opposition to voter ID and proof of citizenship measures, and Titus, Lee, and Horsford comply. No questions asked.
“Out of touch Democrats Dina Titus, Susie Lee, and Steven Horsford once again proved they are more loyal to their radical party bosses than the 83 percent of Americans who support commonsense election integrity,” said NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez.
That loyalty may win applause inside the Beltway echo chamber. It does not reflect the instincts of Nevada families who want fair rules, secure elections, and a system they can trust.
Election integrity should not be controversial. It should be foundational. But once again, Nevada Democrats chose ideology over common sense, Washington over Nevada, and party over people.
