Part 17: Child Tax Credit Boosts Nevada Families
By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, July 25, 2025 6:00 am
Our 20-part series, Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill: Nevada’s Wins and Losses, cheers 600,000 Nevada families. The “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” (Sec. 1103) raises the child tax credit to $3,000 per child, $3,600 for under 6, fully refundable.
Pahrump mom Sarah gets $6,000 for two kids, covering school costs. In 2021, credits cut Nevada’s child poverty 30%. The CBO estimates $200 billion in aid. Critics note deficit risks, but families gain now.
Nevada’s kids are our future, from classrooms to careers. As credits flow, ask: Will this lift our next generation, or fade as a short-term boost?
