In today’s unfortunate political environment, friendships and family relations are often fractured by opposite political leanings, however Thomas “Wags” Wagner has withstood his political differences through maintaining a close friendship with Senator Catherine Cortez Masto and her husband Paul, as detailed in Wagner’s numerous social media posts.

His “best bud” Paul Masto, along with former Democratic Commissioner Larry Brown encouraged Wagner to run “for a very neglected seat” on the Clark County Commission in District C.

Thomas “Wags” Wagner is very active on Facebook.

The “very neglected seat” was held by Democratic commissioner Ross Miller who announced he would not seek reelection.

To say that this seat has been neglected is an interesting choice of words for a district that is now swinging to a Republican advantage, and one that could provide a Republican challenger with an opportunity to hold a seat on the powerful commission for the first time in decades.

Leading GOP contender April Becker has established name ID in the district and will face Wagner and Gail Powers in the primary. Former Assemblywoman Shannon Bilbray-Axelrod and Hunter Cain will square off in the Democratic primary.

Wagner has posted his close relationship with the Masto’s extensively on social media, referring to Paul as his “best bud” and Senator Masto as an “amazing woman” and a “truly good woman.”

Seemingly, his time spent with the Masto’s includes various outings at restaurants and charity event with Paul Masto across the Las Vegas valley.

A retired LVMPD officer, Wagner may have met his best bud Paul Masto through law enforcement as Masto is a former United States Secret Service Agent.

Senator Cortez-Masto won her reelection bid by less than 8,000 votes, raising the question as to whether or not Wagner supported his best bud’s wife, or if he supported her GOP opponent Adam Laxalt in the critical race for control of the U.S. Senate.

Attempts to reach Wagner were not successful by the time of publishing.
