This week, Nevada set new records in the Biden economy. According to AAA, gas prices have, once again, reached historic highs at an average of $5.25 a gallon.
Prompting the Las Vegas Review Journal to ask, “Is $6 gas possible?” noting that gas prices have risen to historic highs 12 weeks in a row, surging 32% in one month.
During a fundraiser last year, Democratic Rep. Susie Lee (CD-3) stated: “I acknowledge that things are getting expensive, but I’m not going to apologize for it,” she said.
And why should she apologize? According to Open Secrets, Lee has received $68,065 from environmental groups during the 2020 and 2022 cycles.

In fact, Lee received the 11th most contributions from environmental groups during the 2020 cycle.
The League of Conservation Voters and the Sierra Club have both endorsed Lee in the 2022 cycle. According to their respective websites, they have both supported and cheered the canceling of the Keystone XL pipeline. The Sierra Club has an entire portion of its website dedicated to “Fighting Oil and Gas.”
The League of Conservation Voters also cheered Biden’s war on American energy in its 2021 Year in Review, saying, “President Biden signed important executive orders to rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement, stop the Keystone XL pipeline, halt drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and halt construction of the xenophobic and racist border wall.”
As reported by the Globe, the fight to “protect water” while supporting the building of massive. “environmentally friendly” solar farms throughout Nevada, is an outright fallacy. Recently, Townsite solar farm in Boulder City used 20 million gallons of water in two months for dust mitigation efforts. Although this much water was used to battle dust in the desert, Townsite failed to meet the environmental standards and were fined over $200,000.
As reported by Solar Power World, Secretary Granholm and Rep. Lee toured Townsite in June 2021, where Granholm proclaimed:
‘This solar plant is the perfect example of how we can use the potential in clean energy to create good-paying union jobs that grow the economy, reduce energy bills and address climate change,” said Energy Secretary Jennifer M. Granholm. President Biden’s American Jobs Plan will create millions of clean energy jobs all across the supply chain that will be needed to plan facilities, manufacture materials, install transmission lines and solar panels, and it’s going to help us get our country get to 100% clean electricity by 2035.”
Although Susie Lee claims in her Twitter bio to be a bipartisan legislator and stated in a recent event that she is “one of the most bipartisan members of Congress”, according to Lugar Center’s Bipartisan Index, her claim is false. Per ProPublica, Lee votes with Nancy Pelosi 99% of the time.
The false claims of bipartisanship by Lee is not surprising, especially in a swing state like Nevada. Lee knows she is vulnerable, as does Nancy Pelosi, whose SuperPac just reserved $11.6 million in television ads to protect three Democratically controlled congressional districts, which includes Lee’s district CD-3.
As Lee deflects to fight “Big Oil”, many Nevadans are wishing she would be bipartisan and fight the Biden agenda which has caused record inflation and historically high gas prices. Yet, in Lee’s own words, she isn’t going to apologize for things that are getting expensive.
