Out-Of-State Donors Account for 90 Percent of Sen Rosen’s Q2 Fundraising Haul
Donors from California and New York account for nearly 50 percent of her Q2 haul

Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) reported a $7.6 million fundraising haul last quarter and has ~$9.5 million cash-on-hand in her bid to hold her vital U.S Senate seat as Democrats and Republicans battle for control of the chamber. Rosen’s GOP challenger Sam Brown has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump and Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo and raised over $4 million in the second quarter.
At the RNC convention, former President Trump encouraged Nevadans to “get out an vote for Sam Brown” and labeled Rosen as a “total lightweight,” however her FEC reports show Rosen is a no lightweight when it comes to raising money from out-of-state donors.
Of the $7.6 million Rosen raised in the second quarter, over 90 percent of donations came from out-of-state donors compared to only nine percent received from Nevadans. Donors from California and New York account for nearly 50 percent of her Q2 haul, and nearly 60 percent of Rosen’s donors reside in blue states.
Her latest FEC report substantiates that out-of-state donors to Rosen’s campaign are a pattern, not an anomaly, according to past fundraising reports.
In Q4 2023, The Globe reported that Nevadans accounted for less than 9 percent of Rosen’s contributions, while California, New York, and Massachusetts donors gave almost $4 million. Out-of-state donors accounted for over 90 percent of the approximate $3.2 million Rosen raised in the last quarter of 2023, compared to less than 9 percent donated by Nevada residents.
In Q1 2024, Rosen took max donations from left-wing New York billionaire George Soros and his “more political” son, Alexander.
On January 2, 2024, Soros and his son each contributed $6,600 to Rosen’s campaign from New York.
In Q2 2024, Soros’ daughter, Andrea Soros matched their donation, as did billionaires Tom Secunda, James Murdoch, and Amos Hostetter.
Notable PAC donations include support from Big Pharma and Real Estate organizations.
Media buys accounted for 73 percent of Rosen’s campaign expenditures. In January, Rosen received a $36 million boost for ad buys from the Senate Majority PAC, a Democratic super PAC tied to Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
In the last Nevada Senate race, Senator Catherine Cortez Masto vastly outspent her GOP opponent Adam Laxalt and secured her reelection victory by less than 8,000 votes. Pollsters predict this race may also come down to the wire.
In April, the Cook Political Report moved the Silver State Senate race from Lean Democrat to Toss Up and rightfully predicted the race to be “one of the toughest in the country.”
