Former President Donald Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris by 10 points in Nevada according to polling conducted by InsiderAdvantage. The poll taken July 15-16 shows Trump leading Harris 50 percent to 40 percent. In the same poll, Trump leads Biden by seven points. 800 “Likely Voters” were polled and yields a 3.52 percent margin of error.
The top lines of the poll indicate that the Hispanic vote in the Silver State drops three points to 42 percent should Harris secure the Democratic nomination, with Trump receiving a four-point bump. The African American vote remains unchanged, but Trump dominates the field with younger voters, securing over 50 percent of the vote to Harris’ 30 percent.
The battleground states of Arizona and Pennsylvania shows Trump in the lead by seven and six points, respectively.
The poll was taken prior to President Joe Biden’s announcement yesterday that he has abandoned his reelection campaign. Shortly after the announcement on X (formerly Twitter), Biden endorsed Harris for president.
Since Biden’s announcement, Harris has raised $50 million and garnered the endorsements of hundreds of Democratic delegates and Nevada’s Democratic officials, yet it remains unclear if Harris will become the nominee or how the Democratic party will select a candidate.
Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford, Nevada Democratic Party Chair Daniele Monroe-Moreno, legislative leaders Nicole Cannizzaro and Steve Yeager, U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez-Masto and Jacky Rosen, and U.S. Representatives Steven Horsford, Susie Lee, and Dina Titus each voiced their support for Harris.
Nevada Democrats now have until September to submit their presidential ticket to the Secretary of State to appear on November’s ballot.
