LAS VEGAS – According to investigators, a Las Vegas pastor allegedly abused a youngster under the age of 14 while other adults were aware of the incident and did nothing.
Isaac Luna-Valencia, 48, is being held without bond at the Clark County Detention Center on accusations of lewdness with a juvenile and kidnapping as of Thursday.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the alleged victim told officials that Luna sexually assaulted her twice while they were alone on a boat on Lake Mohave.
Interviews with family members and others who testified to authorities about the alleged abuse indicated that there were other adults who allegedly knew about Luna’s acts but did nothing to stop them.
A family member offered Luna a polygraph test after learning about the alleged offenses on December 6, but he declined.
Other witnesses said family members told them it was the alleged victim’s fault for “not pulling out her phone on Pastor Isaac molesting her,” and that a solution or a “sign from God” would let them know it actually happened.
Luna was discovered at his workplace on December 14 and, after briefly resisting arrest, cooperated with investigators.
Luna’s next court appearance is scheduled for February 28.
