After closing suddenly on June 21 amid heightened concern over immigration enforcement, North Las Vegas’s Broadacres Marketplace is reportedly preparing to welcome vendors and shoppers back around August 1, multiple vendors told News 3 Las Vegas . The month-long suspension had a severe economic impact on small businesses operating at the swap meet. Ana Bernal, whose family runs Gorditas El Fogón, said sales dropped by 90% once the market closed and affected not just vendor stalls but their nearby brick-and-mortar restaurants . Though local officials are offering small business grants to help offset losses , uncertainty remains as some vendors say they will not return. While August 1 is being discussed, Broadacres management has not publicly confirmed the reopening date. Vendors are urging patrons to return but also preparing for reduced foot traffic and continued concern among employees and vendors .
