LAS VEGAS – A California man is exploring his legal options after a bizarre and painful incident at a Las Vegas Strip resort. Michael Farchi, of Agora Hills, claims he was stung on the testicles by a scorpion while sleeping during a holiday season stay.
The Incident
Farchi reports waking up in severe pain on December 26th, 2023. Upon investigation, he discovered a scorpion clinging to his underwear. He sought medical attention and was diagnosed with a scorpion sting. Farchi and his family checked out of the resort the following day, with the hotel comping their room.
Documentation and Response
Farchi and his attorney, Brian Virag, provided photos of the scorpion and a copy of the incident report filed with the Venetian Resort Las Vegas. Virag states the incident has been traumatic for his client and suggests the resort may not have followed established safety protocols.
The Venetian’s statement indicates they have procedures in place for incidents and asserts those procedures were followed.
Scorpion Safety
While uncommon, scorpion encounters can occur in desert environments. Experts recommend always inspecting hotel rooms upon arrival.
