Coroner Rules Death a Homicide

The Clark County Coroner’s Office completed its forensic examination on Monday afternoon, officially ruling McLean’s cause of death as a catastrophic gunshot wound to the head, with the manner of death formally classified as a homicide.

The fatal confrontation originally unfolded on Friday morning, June 12, 2026, within a city municipal maintenance facility. According to preliminary findings by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Section, the shooting stemmed from an escalating verbal workplace altercation between McLean and a co-worker.

The primary adult male suspect, who was quickly apprehended by patrol teams after attempting to flee the maintenance complex on foot, remains confined inside the Clark County Detention Center (CCDC).

Arraignment documents filed in Las Vegas Justice Court confirm the suspect faces a first-degree open murder charge with a deadly weapon enhancement. Municipal flags at City Hall and regional infrastructure facilities have been lowered to half-staff to honor McLean’s eight years of administrative service to the downtown Las Vegas community.
