On the evening of May 5, 2025, a 64-year-old Las Vegas resident lost his life in a hit-and-run incident on Park Run Drive in Summerlin. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) reports indicate that the man was crossing a private drive near 10250 West Charleston Boulevard when he was struck by a commercial vehicle that failed to stop at the scene. The victim was pronounced dead on-site, marking the 62nd traffic-related fatality in the department’s jurisdiction this year.
This incident underscores the pressing need for enhanced accountability and responsibility within the commercial transport sector. The failure of the driver to remain at the scene not only violates legal obligations but also reflects a disregard for human life and community safety. As our city continues to grow, it’s imperative that both corporate entities and individual drivers uphold the highest standards of conduct to ensure the safety of all residents.
LVMPD is actively investigating the case and urges anyone with information to come forward. Community cooperation is essential in bringing those responsible to justice and in preventing future tragedies.
