LAS VEGAS, NV — Clark County firefighters successfully pulled two family dogs from a burning home in the southwest valley Tuesday morning, quickly knocking down an aggressive residential fire before flames could spread to adjacent properties.
The emergency response unfolded at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, when 911 dispatchers received emergency calls reporting heavy smoke and active flames showing from a single-family residence along the 6900 block of Amethyst Peak Street, situated in a residential corridor southwest of the Las Vegas Strip.
Engine companies with the Clark County Fire Department (CCFD) arrived within minutes, observing thick black smoke billowing from the eaves and flames breaking through a portion of the structure.
Fire crews initiated a primary search of the residence while laying attack lines to suppress the core of the fire.

Interior Search and Canine Extrication
While hose teams attacked the main seat of the fire to halt vertical progression into the attic, search teams advanced through smoke-filled rooms to verify that no human occupants were trapped inside.
During the secondary interior sweep, firefighters located two domestic dogs huddled inside the smoke-compromised dwelling.
Rescuers safely carried both animals outside to fresh air.
Paramedics evaluated the animals on scene, administering specialized pet oxygen masks to treat mild smoke inhalation before safely reuniting them with their grateful owners.
No human residents were home at the time the blaze broke out, and CCFD confirmed that no civilians or responding firefighters sustained injuries during suppression operations.
Investigation and Structural Damage Assessment
Fire attack crews brought the incident under control in under 30 minutes, preventing structural compromise to neighboring two-story homes positioned along the residential cul-de-sac.
