Henderson Police Shoot Suspect After Shots Fired in Open-Air Barricade

Henderson Police were engaged in a dramatic standoff with a suspect on Thursday morning, culminating in an officer-involved shooting.
The incident began when police responded to reports of an “active open-air barricaded suspect” near the intersection of Sunset Road and Margarita Avenue, east of Boulder Highway. According to authorities, the suspect fired shots at someone in the area before fleeing on foot.
Officers located the suspect, leading to a tense barricade situation. During the standoff, the suspect reportedly produced a firearm, prompting police to discharge their weapons.
The suspect sustained minor injuries but ultimately surrendered to police and was transported to the hospital for treatment. No officers were reported injured during the incident.
The Henderson Police Department is currently investigating the situation. No further details about the suspect or the motive for the initial gunfire have been released.
