Metro Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Stabbing Near Las Vegas Strip

LAS VEGAS, NV — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police homicide detectives have secured a swift arrest in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred early Wednesday morning just east of the resort corridor.

Courtyard Altercation Turns Fatal

The violent incident unfolded in a high-density residential area located immediately east of the main tourism district.

  • The Call: LVMPD patrol units swarmed an apartment complex courtyard in the 3800 block of Cambridge Street at approximately 3:30 AM on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, after receiving multiple emergency calls regarding a loud, violent argument.

  • The Discovery: Upon arrival, officers located a 28-year-old male victim suffering from severe, penetrative stab wounds.

  • The Outcome: Despite immediate medical intervention by arriving emergency personnel, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suspect Booked on Murder Charges

Following a rapid investigation fueled by witness statements and physical evidence collected at the complex, Metro tactical units located and arrested 23-year-old Eder Castrejon late Thursday evening, May 21.

Homicide detectives determined that during the physical altercation in the courtyard, Castrejon pulled a blade and stabbed the victim multiple times. Castrejon has been officially booked into the Clark County Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bail on one count of open murder.

The official identity of the 28-year-old victim is being withheld pending formal autopsy verification and notification of next of kin by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. The investigation remains open and active as detectives finalize processing the evidence.
