Metro Police Investigate Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision on West Desert Inn Road

LAS VEGAS, NV — Collision investigation detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Traffic Bureau are conducting an active investigation into a fatal multi-vehicle crash that occurred Monday afternoon in the central Las Vegas Valley.
The incident resulted in one fatality and multiple hospital transports, causing extensive traffic delays along a major arterial corridor.
Multi-Vehicle Chain Reaction Crash
Traffic Bureau investigators determined that a black Nissan Versa travelling along Desert Inn Road lost control and struck a white SUV. The impact caused the sedan to veer out of its lane and collide with a red pickup truck before striking a roadside tree.

One Pronounced Deceased at Hospital
Personnel with Clark County Fire Department responded alongside patrol units to perform emergency extrication and medical care.
Occupants from the involved vehicles were rushed to University Medical Center’s trauma unit for treatment. Hospital officials later pronounced the driver of the Nissan Versa deceased as a result of injuries sustained in the impact.
Traffic detectives closed both directions of West Desert Inn Road between Warnock Road and Frontier Avenue for several hours to perform physical scene reconstruction and mapping.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased driver following family notification. Metro Police confirm the collision marks Southern Nevada’s 71st traffic-related fatality of 2026.
