LAS VEGAS – As the school year approaches, parents and guardians of children attending classes in the Clark County School District (CCSD) have essential resources available to ensure their kids are up-to-date on required vaccinations.

To aid parents in understanding the necessary vaccinations, the CCSD website offers a comprehensive guide detailing which vaccines are needed for school enrollment. Being aware of the mandatory vaccinations is crucial for a smooth start to the academic year.

The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) is also taking proactive measures to facilitate the vaccination process. They have released a calendar with specified times and locations for back-to-school vaccinations. However, it is important to note that appointments are required for these vaccinations.

In compliance with the State of Nevada’s requirements, students enrolling in school must have the following vaccinations: chickenpox (varicella), hepatitis A, hepatitis B, polio, tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis (DTaP and Tdap), quadrivalent meningitis, and measles-mumps-rubella (MMR). Additionally, parents who have recently moved to Nevada should be aware that the state mandates hepatitis A vaccination. Immunizations that were considered up-to-date in other states without hepatitis A vaccination requirements might not be current in Nevada.

For further information and to access the list of immunization requirements for school enrollment, parents can visit Immunize Nevada’s dedicated webpage on School, Child Care, and University Vaccine Requirements.

Parents are encouraged to explore the various options provided by the Southern Nevada Health District for back-to-school vaccinations. For more details or to schedule an appointment, visit www.snhd.info/bts or call (702) 759-0850. Ensuring children have the necessary vaccinations is vital for their health, well-being, and a successful academic year in the Clark County School District.
