Tech Giant Switch Files Zoning Amendment for Massive Southwest Las Vegas Campus Expansion

LAS VEGAS, NV — Digital infrastructure giant Switch has formally advanced a sweeping new expansion proposal targeting its mammoth technology footprint in the southwest Las Vegas valley corridor.

The Las Vegas-headquartered technology titan submitted formal site modification and non-residential development applications to county planners to initiate the next phase of its high-performance data center grid.

The 215 Beltway Technology Corridor

The proposed industrial development targets a prime 9-acre parcel of land strategically situated adjacent to West Warm Springs Road and South Edmond Street. The geographical footprint sits positioned immediately north of the high-visibility 215 Beltway tech corridor, providing direct logistical synchronization with Switch’s existing Core Campus network.

The comprehensive zoning application outlines plans for a massive, multi-story data center structure tailored to support high-density graphics processing unit (GPU) servers, advanced cooling infrastructures, and localized power distribution hubs.

Zoning Board Waiver Evaluations

Because the engineering blueprints demand elevated vertical structural parameters to maximize server racking efficiencies, the project requires explicit municipal approvals. The Clark County Board of Commissioners, convening as the regional zoning authority, has officially added the Switch expansion proposal to its upcoming public hearing agenda.

County commissioners will systematically evaluate requested boundary line variances and maximum structural height waivers necessary to transition the vacant parcel into an active technology hub. If approved, the site modifications will prompt immediate early grading operations, accelerating the regional deployment of artificial intelligence cloud services across Southern Nevada.
