LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – While many people will be focused on food, family, and football over the long weekend, groups warn blood donations are still needed.
According to Vitalant, fewer individuals contribute during the Thanksgiving and winter holiday seasons than at any other time of year.
According to a spokeswoman, a patient requires a blood transfusion every two seconds.
Every blood type is required every day, but type O, particularly O-negative, is crucial in emergency situations.
This weekend, the JW Marriott Resort in Summerlin will conduct a two-day blood drive.
Donors can attend the Grand Ballroom beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 26 and 27. to 9 p.m. All contributors will receive a 50% discount certificate for the Market Place Buffet.
To book an appointment or to view additional future blood drives, go to vitalant.org or call 877-25-VITAL (84825).
