The Man Who Allegedly Killed a Las Vegas Lady 40 Years Ago Has Been Arrested
LAS VEGAS – Sandra Renee DiFelice’s rape and murder in Las Vegas went unsolved for four decades.
A 64-year-old Las Vegas man was detained Monday, police said.
Metro murder division Lt. Jason Johansson announced Paul Wesly Nuttal’s arrest last week.
After Paul Nuttal was arrested, Johansson’s cold case investigators made the call every cold case detective loves to make.
The call was to the woman’s 3-year-old daughter. DeFelice’s daughter, now in her 40s, called cold case detectives in 2021 for an update.
Detectives reexamined the case and decided to test the evidence under DiFelice’s fingernails for DNA. Johansson said tests led to Nuttal.
“I hope this gives closure for the family and justice for Sandra,” added Johansson.
