LAS VEGAS – The Las Vegas valley has been hit with rain, wind, and snow this Tuesday, prompting the issuing of a wind advisory and a travel notice
Wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour are forecast between February 14 at 9 am and February 16 at 10 am. As the snow has been spotted in several locations in the Las Vegas valley, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada has issued a travel alert for a winter storm.
The National Weather Service issues a warning that strong winds may cause damage to buildings and power outages if they are allowed to whip around loose items and tree limbs.
NV Energy reports that as of Tuesday afternoon, 14,000 individuals in 56 different places in the Las Vegas valley are without electricity.
Be cautious on the roadways as dust and snow blown around by the wind have reduced visibility.
