A Fire in Northeast Reno Damages One Abandoned Home and Scorches Another

RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – Reno Fire Department says, one abandoned home was destroyed in a Saturday afternoon fire in northeast Reno, while another abandoned residence was damaged.
It occurred at 3:12 p.m. near the crossroads of 10th and Montello streets
As firemen arrived, flames were fully immersed in one residence, and flames raged through heavy foliage to singe a second home, according to the fire department. The smoke from the fire could be seen from all throughout Reno.
Twenty-four firefighters were dispatched. The fire’s origin is being investigated. According to the fire department, neighbors reported seeing homeless persons in the vicinity. Both buildings were condemned and their power was shut off.
The junction will be blocked until around 6:30 p.m.
