NEVADA – The Carson City Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Investigation Division is investigating and identifying a vehicle and driver involved in a hit-and-run on Tuesday evening near the intersection of Saliman Road and William St.

According to CCSO, around 7:56 p.m. on January 10, a person was strolling with a bicycle in front of Carson High School just north of Saliman Road. Due to the considerable snow on the bicycle lane and sidewalk, the pedestrian was strolling in the travel lane.

According to the CCSO, other vehicles saw the pedestrian and changed lanes. However, a pickup truck struck the man from behind, throwing him into the snowbank. The pedestrian had non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

A red or dark red four-door pickup truck, possibly a Dodge Ram, was described as the vehicle. The pickup truck was observed going northward on Humboldt Lane from William St. following the crash, according to surveillance video.

Anyone with information should call CCSO Investigation Division Detective Sam Hatley at (775) 283-7852 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
