Spanish Springs, NV – On Saturday afternoon, a brush fire was swiftly contained by local fire crews.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Pyramid Way and Calle de la Plata on March 18, and was reportedly caused by a transformer explosion near a utility pole.
The Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue (TMFR) responded promptly, with one fire engine arriving on the scene to quickly extinguish the flames.
Fortunately, there were no injuries or further damage reported. According to TMFR authorities, this incident marks the first brush fire of the season.
The cause of the transformer malfunction is still under investigation. As the weather begins to warm up, authorities are urging residents to be vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent wildfires.
This includes avoiding outdoor burning, properly disposing of cigarettes, and maintaining a clear defensible space around homes and properties.
