Washoe County Deputies Investigate Fatal Shooting in Verdi

NEVADA – Washoe County deputies are investigating a shooting that killed a man in Verdi early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. at a home on Mario Road along the Truckee River. Deputies say when they arrived on scene, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are investigating this as an isolated incident, and there is no outstanding threat to the public.

This is the second homicide in Verdi in the past six months. In April, a man was shot and killed at a home on Highway 28.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
