LAS VEGAS, NV — A local youth gymnastics instructor made a high-stakes court appearance downtown on Monday morning following his pre-holiday arrest on multi-victim juvenile sexual misconduct allegations.

The courtroom battle highlights an aggressive push by state prosecutors to enforce strict protective barriers around regional youth athletic facilities.

The CCDC Booking and Unsealed Affidavits

Court administrators at the Regional Justice Center confirmed that 53-year-old Michael Nestor appeared before a Clark County magistrate judge for a formal bail argument block. Nestor has remained in administrative segregation at the Clark County Detention Center (CCDC) since being apprehended by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Child Abuse Team right before the holiday weekend.

The state’s unsealed criminal complaint details a predatory pattern of boundary violations allegedly executed inside a valley youth sports studio. According to police affidavits, two independent juvenile gymnastics students came forward to investigators detailing confrontations where Nestor cornered them inside the facility’s enclosed restroom stalls. While inside the stalls, the coach allegedly subjected the children to inappropriate physical contact, repeatedly squeezing their buttocks before ordering them back to the active training floor.

State Demands Absolute Sports Complex Bans

During the recorded police interrogation, Nestor flatly denied the allegations raised by the young athletes, explicitly telling a detective, “I didn’t touch them.” However, prosecutors from the Clark County District Attorney’s Office argued Monday that the multi-victim nature of the complaints establishes a clear, immediate threat to public safety.

The state requested that the judge maintain a high-tier cash bond and implement stringent pre-trial restrictions. Prosecutors are demanding that if Nestor secures a release, he must be fitted with an active GPS tracking ankle monitor and slapped with a comprehensive protective order legally barring him from approaching the victims, entering any valley school grounds, or stepping foot inside any youth sports or recreational training facility in Southern Nevada.
