LAS VEGAS, NV — A violent multi-vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist completely paralyzed traffic in the western Las Vegas valley, forcing emergency response units to lock down a major Summerlin intersection for several hours.

The high-impact wreck has left a valley resident fighting for their life at a regional trauma center.

The Collision at Canyon Run Drive

According to active incident logs unsealed by the Nevada Highway Patrol and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, emergency dispatch boards lit up at approximately 1:35 PM. First responders were dispatched to the busy intersection of South Rampart Boulevard and Canyon Run Drive, sitting right in the heart of Summerlin’s commercial district.

Evidence from the scene indicated that a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle collided with extreme force within the intersection grid. The impact ejected the motorcycle rider onto the asphalt, resulting in catastrophic, life-threatening bodily injuries. Medical rescue teams rushed the rider to a nearby trauma unit, where they remain in critical condition under intensive care.

Forensic Real-Time Reconstruction

Due to the extreme severity of the rider’s injuries, Metro’s specialized Fatal Detail unit was called to the scene to head the investigation. Accident reconstruction teams blocked off all northbound and southbound travel lanes along Rampart Boulevard, systematically diverting heavy afternoon traffic to secondary surface avenues while forensic sweepers mapped out skid trails and physical impact debris.

The driver of the passenger vehicle involved remained at the collision site, completely bypassed any attempts to flee, and actively cooperated with traffic officers. Preliminary evaluations completed by field investigators confirmed that impairment does not appear to be a contributing factor in the crash. Following a multi-hour forensic scene documentation process, NDOT crews completely cleared the remaining wreckage and officially reopened all traffic lanes.
