LAS VEGAS, NV — The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Las Vegas has extended its Extreme Heat Warning across the Las Vegas Valley and surrounding Mojave Desert regions through 8:00 PM PDT on Monday, July 27.

A persistent, high-pressure heat dome parked over the Southwest continues to push afternoon temperatures into dangerous territory, severely straining regional power grids and prompting health advisories across Clark County.

Sustained 110°+ Temperatures and Minimal Overnight Relief

Meteorological forecasts indicate daytime highs will range between 108°F and 114°F across the Las Vegas Valley floor, with temperatures surging past 115°F along the lower Colorado River Valley and reaching up to 120°F in Death Valley National Park.

Exacerbating the severe heat event, elevated overnight temperatures are offering virtually no thermal recovery. Nighttime lows are projected to remain trapped between 80°F and 95°F. According to public health officials, the lack of nocturnal cooling prevents ambient indoor and outdoor structures from shedding heat, dramatically escalating the cumulative risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
