Thousands Line Las Vegas Boulevard to Honor Fallen Metro Officer Austin Abdelnabi in Solemn Memorial Procession

LAS VEGAS, NV — Hundreds of marked patrol vehicles, emergency service units, and thousands of community members lined Las Vegas Boulevard on Friday morning to pay their final respects to fallen Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Officer Austin Abdelnabi.

Officer Abdelnabi lost his life in the line of duty on August 4, 2026, prompting an outpouring of grief and solidarity across the Southern Nevada law enforcement community.

Valley-Wide Motorcade and Public Tributes

The formal procession traversed major valley arteries, with flag-draped overpasses manned by Clark County and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue crews. Law enforcement personnel from across Nevada and neighboring Western states joined the motorcade escort to honor Abdelnabi’s service and sacrifice.

During the morning procession, Nevada Highway Patrol troopers responded to a minor vehicle collision along the motorcade route on northbound Interstate 11 before Sunset Road. Responders cleared the roadway to maintain continuous movement for the official escort.

“Officer Austin Abdelnabi dedicated his life to protecting the Las Vegas community with unwavering courage and integrity,” department officials shared during the memorial service. “His legacy of service will never be forgotten by the men and women of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.”

Memorial services concluded with a traditional multi-agency final radio broadcast and honors at the service venue.
