Medical Examination Uncovers Fatal Gunfire Wounds
According to preliminary findings released by the department, dispatchers received reports of an unresponsive male lying motionless in the parking lot. Arriving patrol officers and emergency medical responders located the victim and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
While the initial 911 call described an unresponsive medical emergency, a closer physical examination of the body by emergency personnel revealed that the victim had suffered at least one gunshot wound.
Upon confirming evidence of foul play, officers cordoned off the commercial lot and notified the LVMPD Homicide Section, which dispatched detectives and crime scene analysts to assume control of the investigation.
Canvassing Commercial Video and Evidence Recovery
Homicide detectives spent Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday processing the crime scene, searching for shell casings, and canvassing nearby retail plazas and auto businesses along the busy South Eastern Avenue corridor.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance feeds from parking lot cameras and adjacent storefronts to determine the exact timeline of the shooting, establish whether the gunfire occurred in the lot or elsewhere before the victim collapsed, and track any fleeing vehicles.
