The Collision Sequence on South Eastern Avenue

The crash unfolded on South Eastern Avenue south of Pueblo Way, a high-volume commercial corridor in the southeast valley.

According to evidence collected at the scene and statements from witnesses, the 50-year-old female driver was operating a 2018 Nissan Rogue traveling northbound on Eastern Avenue. A 2022 Toyota Corolla entered the roadway from an adjacent commercial driveway, attempting to negotiate traffic.

The front of the Toyota made contact with the Nissan, triggering a secondary impact that caused the Nissan to careen toward the eastern roadway boundary. Emergency medical personnel with the Clark County Fire Department arrived on scene to extricate the driver of the Nissan, who was transported to Sunrise Hospital with life-threatening internal injuries.

Coroner Notification and Valley Fatality Trends

The driver of the Toyota remained on scene, sustained minor injuries, and cooperated fully with investigating officers. Field testing and evaluation revealed no indicators of narcotics or alcohol impairment on the part of either operator.
